Bill Sanders is a celebrated political cartoonist who was way ahead of his time. He is known for his progressive, biting commentary on civil liberties and civil rights issues. Many of the problems we are still grappling with today like corporate greed and corruption, gun control, racial inequality, gender bias, LGBT rights, and women’s health are portrayed in Sanders’ work dating back to the 1960’s! Come along with me to the opening reception for an exhibit of his powerful and important illustrations - we need them now more than ever! The show, Bill Sanders: Against the Grain at Open Ground Studios in Monterey, California, was lovingly curated by Denese Sanders, the artist’s daughter and Artistic Director at OGS.  See more of Bill Sanders' incredible work: http://sanderscartoon.blogspot.com Learn more about Open Ground Studios: http://www.opengroundstudios.com

In state after state - most recently North Carolina and Georgia - we see them pushing for legislation to force transgender people into the wrong bathrooms, casting them as the predators when they in fact are the ones preying on the ignorance and fear of their constituents. Let's see if we can help people like Governor Pat McCrory get their heads out of the toilet. THANK YOU to my friends Tom Morgan, Briden Schueren, Aaron Anderson, Edwin Clark, and Tony Gatto for helping me with this one! --- Step into the weird and wonderful world of artist Paul Richmond, where anything could go down -- even a pin-up boys' pants! We're all a little high on paint fumes around here, so grab a brush and join the painting party!
