Cheesecake Boys Coloring Party with Robert Burcar- Weekly Vlog 34 - Paul Richmond Studio

Image
My friend Robert Burcar helps me celebrate the release of my first coloring book, Cheesecake Boys, with a pinup coloring party! Pinup girls from the ’40s and ’50s had such a hard time keeping their clothes on. A loose nail, a curious pup, or even a brisk wind all seemed to exist for the purpose of disrobing unsuspecting cuties. But one important question has gone unanswered—until now: how did men always manage to dodge these obstacles? Now it’s time to even the score! Welcome to the colorful world of the Cheesecake Boys, pinups for a new generation where skin-baring wardrobe malfunctions take an equal opportunity approach. Grab your crayons, markers, or colored pencils because these fellows need your magic touch—all over!  Twenty-two full page, single-sided images. Visit http://cheesecakeboy.com to learn more! Pantsing Pinup Boys - Colorful Pants Down Fun for Everyone - Paul Richmond Studio - Vlog 31

Image
My Cheesecake Boys series is all about looking for creative, humorous ways to get guys out of their pants. It's not much deeper than that! They are reminiscent of the pin-up girls popularized in the 40's and 50's with overtly contrived scenarios putting them in imminent danger of having their underwear (or more) exposed. There's a slightly innocent suggestiveness to the works from this time period which I am really drawn to and have been interpreting from a gay male perspective for several years. Now it’s time for everyone to join in the pinup boy pantsing party. I thought it would be awesome to share a new pinup boy sketch with you every Friday so you can print him out and color him however you’d like – crayons, colored pencils, paint, GLITTER…the possibilities are endless!! Make sure you pick some extra cute colors for his undies!  If your coloring skills are more high-tech, feel free to load him into your coloring app of choice and do it that way! I want t...

Michael Breyette Cheesecake in progress

Image
I'm working on my Cheesecake painting of artist Michael Breyette and wanted to share a progress pic. I'm having so much fun re-creating some of his amazing artwork for the background, including the sexy, gas-pumping fellow below. Michael's a big inspiration, so I hope I did his work justice! The only change I made was to adjust the figure's eyes so that he could better enjoy the view.  Here's the sketch so you can see what's left: After Michael, I have some other exciting pin-up prospects on the horizon. Jack Mackenroth and Bobbie Burlesque both recently sent me reference pics for their paintings, and I must thank them for making my job very easy! These photos are amazing!! Peeping Perez, Starring Perez Hilton

Image
Blogger Perez Hilton exposes the secrets of the stars. Now, as the subject of my latest Cheesecake Boy painting, he gets caught exposing his own!  While spying on Lady Gaga in search of a headline, her dog takes matters into his own teeth -- making quick work of his pants. Poor Perez is left with nothing to protect his "disco stick" from the world except some smashing bright pink, star-patterned undies. Here's a link to order limited-edition giclee prints of Perez in all his glory: Peeping Perez Check out all of the Cheesecake Boys to date in a feature on Ethansays.com HERE .  If you would like to be first in line to see the new pieces created for this exhibit, sign up for my e-mail newsletter  HERE .

Let Them Eat Cheesecake

Image
I've been busy cooking up some new Cheesecake today, including making good progress on my portrait of photographer Mike Ruiz , which is titled Say Cheese...Cake, Starring Mike Ruiz . I like this second photo because it makes it look like Jesse Archer is squealing at the sight of Mike's ass, or, as they would say in art school, "the pieces are having a dialogue." I also finished my sketch for the Darryl Stephens Cheesecake Boy, which is inspired by Marilyn Monroe's famous scene in The Seven Year Itch . Many thanks to Darryl for providing some amazing reference photos for this.
